McDonald Local Schools’ Drone Racing Team—known as the Dragonflyers—soared to success at the annual Trumbull County Drone Race League competition, held Saturday at Warren G. Harding High School.
The team claimed first place in the Presentation category and tied for third overall in the highly competitive Head-to-Head drone races. The event brought together 16 teams from across Trumbull County, each showcasing their technical skills, precision flying, and team collaboration.
The Dragonflyers impressed judges with their professional presentation, demonstrating not only their technical knowledge but also their innovation, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. The Head-to-Head portion of the competition featured fast-paced races where drones navigated tight turns and challenging obstacles.
The Trumbull County Drone Race League provides students with real-world applications of STEM learning while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
